I always schedule sessions with plenty of time between them. I do this so every client receives and benefits from an unhurried experience that allows them to settle into the photo shoot. I find that this approach helps bring out the best in both of us and fits with my aim to provide you with the best photograph(s) you’ve ever had of yourself!

I understand that you are busy, so I don’t want to keep you any longer than need be, but I also don’t want to rush your headshot session either. Each and every person gets the attention they deserve in order to get the quality of photography they deserve.

The number one ingredient for a fabulous headshot outside of quality light and equipment, is the generation of flattering facial expression and body position. Well there’s a surprise; a flattering facial expression! Seriously though, that’s where my expertise and guidance will come to the fore. It’s much more important for me to produce quality work that I can be proud of and that you get value from, than to simply blast away and have you in and out as quickly as possible. Quality over quantity is the goal and I simply do not wish to compromise in this regard.

I know what you’re thinking; “……..but I can’t stand having my photo taken and they never look any good anyway!” Again, that’s where my expertise and a methodical, calm and detailed approach will make all the difference. There’s no room for being rushed; it can take a little time to get the right expressions and I understand that.

I'll be coaching you throughout the session, so you don’t need to think about a thing. In fact, the less you think the better, but that’s another story! Let’s face it, we don’t know how we look unless we’re in front of a mirror, so I’ll guide you throughout.

Your expression, your head angle, your body positioning; all of the stuff that you can’t see or should need to worry about, I’ll take care of. The aim of the session is to get some fabulous (read ‘outstanding’) shots and I'll spend as little or as long as needed in order to get them.

I love shooting headshots, so I'm in no rush to finish our shoot and from your perspective, the session cost is the same regardless, no matter how long it takes or how many shots we take.

Throughout the session, we'll stop and look at the images we've taken, so you can see what’s working and what’s not and if there's anything you want to change. It’ll be a fun and relaxed atmosphere that lends itself to getting the expressions you need from your headshots.

At the end of the session, we'll sit down and review all of your images. From there, you'll pick your favorite shots to be professionally edited and retouched. I'll give as much or as little input as you like on what the best shots are; it's sometimes nice to have an opinion other than our own when it comes to judging ourselves and what we look like.
